Passports Act, 1974 — section 13

13. Power to make rules..—(1) The Federal Government may, by notification in the official Gazette, make rules2 for carrying out the purposes of this Act.

(2)In particular, and without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing power, such rules may provide for all or any of the following matters, namely: 1 Added by Ord. 21 of 1978, s. 4. 2 For the Passport Rules, 1974, see S.R.O. (a)the conditions to which a passport issued by or on behalf of the Federal Government shall be subject, including conditions as to the ports or places in Pakistan at or from which alone a person holding a passport shall depart from or enter Pakistan;

(b)the persons, other than the applicants for the issue of passports, by whom, and the manner in which, applications for the issue of passports may be submitted; 1 * * * * * * *

(3)Rules made under sub-section (1) may provide that a contravention thereof shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months, or with fine, or with both. 14. Act not to derogate from other laws. The provisions of this Act shall be in addition to, and not in derogation of, the provisions of the 2[Emigration Ordinance, 1979 (XVIII of 1979)] the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act, 1947 (VII of 1947), the Pakistan (Control of Entry) Act, 1952 (LV of 1952), and any other law relating to foreign exchange or entry into Pakistan. 15.
