Legal Practitioners and Bar Councils Act, 1973 — section 58

58. Penalty for illegal practice..—[(1) Any person who is not an advocate and practices the profession of law or any person who is not entitled under this Act to practice in the Supreme Court, a High Court or any other Court or Tribunal subordinate thereto practices before the said Court or Tribunal shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years, or with fine upto fifty thousand rupees, or with both.]

(2)Any Advocate who practices the profession of law, or acts or appears as agent for any other person, while he is suspended from practice, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine, or with both.
